A cable releases attaches to a cameras shutter release button either via a screw thread built into the button or via a cable release adapter and allows you to trigger the shutter without touching the camera itself. Popular in portrait photography, close up and low light photography, using a cable release eliminates the danger of camera shake so is ideal for using with slow shutter speeds.
