Bought lens hood last week as I felt I needed to protect my 85mm lens. I am a wedding photographer and didn't want it to get it knocked. Arrived last Saturday on time and intact, used for the first time yesterday and crushed by Vidoegrapher standing on it. Briliant product as it protected the lens. Buying a new one today !! Well worth the money

The ET65/3 lens hood is specified by Canon for use with the EF 100-300mm lens. It is made of plastic, is light-weight and is fully functional at all zoom/aperture settings on my E40D.
It clips easily onto the lens and can be stored by reversing and clipping over the lens barrel. All lens controls, filters and lens cap are accessible with the hood so stored.
It has two finger-operated spring-clips, one on each side, which are used to release the hood from the lens (fitted normally or reversed). However, these are bevelled towards the edge of the hood and because the hood material is very smooth, it would be easy to drop the hood when removing it unless care is taken.
