The G9 It is a truly lovely bit of kit and I have absolutely no negatives about the camera though a slight gripe about Canon not providing a printed manual, it's an Acrobat pdf file on a CD, a bit mean. The camera handles very well, the back screen lightens and darkens as you change the settings which although is not a "stop down" mode does grab your attention as to which way to go with manual settings. The supplied Canon software allows you to see the Raw files but if you use Adobe Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom, the latest Raw patch is needed for the first two and an upgrade to Lightroom 1.2 is required, the same would be required if someone bought a Canon D40.
