The best method of achieving correct colour at any sort of depth underwater is to use the manual white balance; that is, if your camera has that facility. If not then the next best method is to reduce the blue washout by filtering through a red filter. This has the effect of redressing the balance between the lost red, and the blue/green end of the spectrum. Reasonable approximation of true colour is achieved this way, and the best filters I have come across at a reasonable cost are made by Kood, and are available from Bristol Cameras. Very good value for not a lot of money!
