Bought the Muse plastic after looking at examples of results on Flickr (search 'lensbaby'). Id been wanting a certain feel to my images and was suffering from 'red spot' fever, in other words I was thinking of a Leica compact, with f2.8. I liked the style of the pictures, but 500 quid!
Realised that I mostly wanted the shallow DOF and some distortion.
Having been out for a day with the Muse and 2.8 on my Nikon D200 in A mode, it is without doubt FUN. Now I am wrestling with the fact that it could be regarded as a 'one trick pony'. I hope to find that it is a far more subtle tool when I try it with other apertures, and possibly some portraiture or still life.
I wont regret buying it in any case, a snip at 65 quid, when compared to the Leica, and macro to boot.

This is an excellent, fun way of getting some fantastic and unusual photographs. It's small and very simple to use, although it does take a little practice to get the sweet spot (the in focus bit) just where you want it. For the price it's a great addition to your camera kit.
