The Manfrotto 701HDV head has been designed to support prosumer and lightweight professional HD camcorders. The head replaces the 701RC2 and offers improved ergonomics, better fluidity thanks to improved internal fluid cartridges, a double pan bar rosette and a bigger sliding plate to optimise the position of the camera. 4kg load capacity. Uses the 501PL quick release plate.

Manfrotto 501PLONG Long Video Camera Plate:

This long version of the standard 501 plate allows perfect balance for cameras or camcorders with unusual weight distribution caused by long tele lenses or heavy batteries. It has a laser engraved scale to help identify the optimal position. Supplied with 2x 1/4 inch and 2x 3/8 inch camera fixing screws. Suitable for use with the Manfrotto 561B monopod and 501HDV, 503HDV and 701HDV video heads.

Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, yes both the 117B legs and 701HDV head have a 3/8 inch screw fitting so will fit together fine.
