Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, it will fit but you wont have any autofocus. To be fully compatible you need to have either a Nikon AF-S or a Sigma HSM lens. If you enter in our search box on our website "Nikon D40 compatible lenses" and click on GO it will show you all the lenses that are currently compatible with your D40. Hope this is of help to you. |

Question: Hi can you tell me is this lens fully compatible with the Nikon D40?
Bristol Cameras Answer: This lens would fit but you would not have autofocus operation, to be fully compatible you need to use an AF-S Nikon lens, such as the 70-300 f4.5-5.6 G AF-S VR. You can also use Sigma lenses as long as they are the HSM variety. Hope this is of help to you. |
