The MB-D10 will hold an EN-EL3e battery in addition to the battery already in the camera, effectively doubling your battery capacity.
Also included is the MS-D10, a AA battery holder for 8x AAs.
This grip also improves vertical shooting with an additional shutter release button and a scroll wheel.
You can also use the Nikon EN-EL4/EL4a battery with the optional BL-3 Battery Chamber Cover which allows a higher frame advance rate (up to 8 fps) than using the EL-EL3e.

Question: What camera case would you recomend for the D300/MB D10 with 18-200DX lens? Most cases dont account for the extra height of a D200/D300 with booster pack.
Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, the Lowepro Toploader 75 AW accomodates a digital SLR with grip attached and a zoom lens so should be fine. The Tamrac 5371 Mini Backpack also takes that combination with room for some accessories. Hope this is of help to you.
