Question: If I use the MJU 1030 SW in salt water will it damage it as salt water is so corrosive. Would it be advisable to use a plastic case or a cheaper cover?
Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, Olympus state that the camera can be used in salt water but after use it must be soaked in a bucket of fresh water for 10 minutes then left to dry. Olympus do produce a dedicated underwater housing (PT-043) for the camera it you wish to dive deeper than 10 metres or want to protect the camera more. Hope this is of help to you. |

I have just become the proud owner of a MJU 1030 SW camera. What a great piece of kit. Bit heaver than a normal camera but it is so tough its worth the extra weight. Use the Olympus card and then you can do the panoramic photos. It is quick to turn on and even at 10mp it saves the photo quickly, I love the choice of scenes and the screen is clear and a nice size. Still suffers a bit in very bright sun but not as bad as other cameras I have used. I love the size, its easy to use, I haven't dropped it yet but you never know. I think you have realised that I cannot fault the camera yet, would like a bigger zoom. Well worth the money.
