Olympus UFL-1 Underwater Flash Question Date Added: 23rd January 2008
Question: Hi, I was wondering if you could advise me on what mounting arm I need. I have an Olympus housing PT-037 and a flash UFL-1. I need to get an arm to attach the flash to the housing, however there doesnt seem to be any advice on the Olympus web site. Could you advise me on this please? Do I need just an arm (e.g. 10 BAR 36cm Flex Arm) or do I need something else to attach the flash, arm and housing together?
Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, you require a slot tray such as the 10 Bar Slot Stay x1 (http://www.bristolcameras.co.uk/p-10-bar-slot-stay-x1.htm) plus an arm such as the 10 Bar 36cm Flex Arm (http://www.bristolcameras.co.uk/p-10-bar-36cm-flex-arm.htm) and ideally a fibre optic cable such as the Sea & Sea one here: http://www.bristolcameras.co.uk/p-sea-sea-fibre-optic-cable-l.htm. All three are available on this site. Hope this is of help to you. |

Olympus UFL-1 Underwater Flash Question Date Added: 14th November 2007
Question: will this hook to a sp350 with a synch cable thru the hot shoe and what do i need to wire it.
Bristol Cameras Answer: The UFL-1 is a slave flash so is fired by the cameras built in flash via a slave sensor on the strobe or an optional fibre optic cable. If you want a TTL flash you would have to look at something like the Olympus FL20 flashgun with the PFL-01 housing - this includes a sync cable and connects to the camera housings hotshoe for full TTL flash photography and metering. Hope this is of help to you. |

Olympus UFL-1 Underwater Flash Question Date Added: 31st August 2007
Question: What do I need to use this flash with my olympus 5050 zoom with underwater case
Bristol Cameras Answer: As well as the strobe you would need a tray and arm, a good set up would be the 10Bar single stay slot tray and the 36cm 10Bar flexible arm. If you want to trigger the strobe via a fibre optic cable (rather than relying on the slave sensor) you would have to also purchase the Sea & Sea fibre optic cable (50107) and the Strobe Mask set. Hope this is of help to you. |
