This is a great lens. It's small, light, sensationally well built and beautiful to handle. Its performance is first rate, the images it produces are sharp across the frame, even from wide apertures, and show great contrast, definition and very little in the way of chromatic abberation or lens flare - in fact I have been completely unable to induce any lens flare at all, even with the sun directly in the frame - impressive stuff.
Macro performance is very good, although this is not the lens to use if you want to take close-ups of bugs and critters - the working distance is very short. But for floral or other still life work this is not a problem. Also a very nice general purpose "walk around" lens, with a field of view similar to the classic 50mm of the film era.
I like this lens a lot and would highly recommend it.

I bought this lens on the basis of glowing reviews on some web forums and, so far (I've only had the lens for 1 week) I'm delighted. Sharpness is everything I had hoped for and the Quick-Shift focus system is really nice to use.

This lens has received excellent reviews. My initial experiences are that it is a wonderful lens. Firstly, the lens is all metal, beutifully engineered and a joy to use. Sharpness is first rate, as is the fall off to out of focus areas (bokeh).
