Super lens delivered in double quick time. I have used this for bird photography and I think it compares very favourably with the Canon 100 - 400 lens at a lot lower price

The lens is not quite as heavy as I thought it would be. It is very well weighted when used with a Canon EOS 450D. I would recommend a monopod or tripod for prolonged use, or at least a bean bag, although I have used it handheld at 500mm with great results. The included lens hood works very well for keeping out unwanted light and is very useful for keeping spots of rain off the front of the lens. It is a great long reaching lens.

Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, no unfortunately the istDS doesnt support HSM/SDM lenses so this lens will not AF I am sorry. The K10D is the oldest generation body which via a firmware update supports SDM/HSM AF.

Question: Hi, I want to use this lens on the Nikon D80. I was also thinking of getting either the 1.4x or 2x Sigma converter, with this combination still give me OS and AF?
Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, OS shouldnt be a problem but you would only have manual focus, not AF, when either converter is used.
