Standard 50mm focal length prime lens with a large f1.4 maximum aperture that is suitable for both 35mm, full frame and APS-C sized sensor digital slr cameras (effective focal length approx 80mm on an APS-C sized sensor camera). 45cm close focus. 77mm filter thread. Super quick and quiet HSM autofocus system. Sigma lenses purchased from 1st September 2010 will now come with a 3 year warranty (if registered with Sigma UK within 30 days of purchase).

Question: Is the Sigma 50mm f1.4 EX DG HSM lens compatible with Nikon D70 camera - particularly the auto-focus?
Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, yes this lens (in Nikon fitting) is fully compatible with the Nikon D70 digital slr camera including AF operation. Due to this cameras APS-C sized sensor the effective focal length would be approx 80mm.
