Sigma 105mm f2.8 EX DG Macro Lens Question Date Added: 25th February 2009
Question: Is the sigma 105/f2.8 macro lens compatible with Nikon D60 and Nikon D90? Does Nikon have a macro lens which is compatible with both of these cameras
Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, the Sigma 105mm macro does not have a built in AF motor so will not AF with the D60, but will be fine with the D90. Nikon produces the 60mm and 105mm Micro lenses which are both AF-S lenses and are therefore fully compatible with both D60 and D90 lenses. Hope this is of some help to you. |

Question: Hi, I currently have this lens and use it on a Canon 40D, if I upgrade to a full frame 5D, will it work on that?
Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, yes this lens is a DG designation so is suitable for both 35mm, full frame and APS-C sized sensors so would be fine on an EOS 5D. Hope this is of help to you. |

Question: I have a Nikon D40 and am interested in the Sigma 105mm f2.8 macro lens - is it compatible?
Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, not fully compatible due to this lens not having a built in AF motor on the Nikon version. It will connect and work with D40 but you will only have manual focus. Hope this is of help to you. |

Question: Does the sigma 105mm f2.8 EX DG macro lens work with the Nikon D40?
Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, no the Sigma 105mm is not fully compatible with the Nikon D40 I am afraid. It does fit and the auto exposure works but as the lens doesnt have a built in AF motor you would only have manual focus. The Tamron 90mm f2.8 Macro now features a built in AF motor on the Nikon fitting so this lens would be worth a look. Hope this is of help to you. |

Question: Does the 105mm macro EX DG and the 10-20mm EX DC Sigma Nikon fit lenses come with the Sigma 2 year warranty?
Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, yes any Sigma EX lens, including the two you mention have a year warranty as standard but once you register them with Sigma UK they extend this by 2 years to make it a 3 year warranty. Hope this is of help to you. |
