I got this tripod and handcontroller really for my Skywatcher 300p tracking dobsonian scope. I swapped the GOTO handset from the AZ mount to the dob and the tracking handset to the AZ mount. Both work a treat. The AZ mount is pretty sturdy for such a reasonably priced item. I have an optically sound WTX90 scope which I will mount on the AZ, and perhaps use it as a solar scope.
