This 55mm HRT combined circular polarising and UV filter uses a newly developed HRT (High Rate Transparency) film which allows approx 25% more visible light through the filter while still filtering the same amount of polarised light. Circular polarising filters are most commonly used to darken bright blue skies in landscape photography and to reduce reflections on water and glass.

The circular polariser is used to remove unwanted reflections from non metallic surfaces such as glass and water. A camera angle of 30 degrees from the reflecting surface is ideal for maximum effect.
