Nikon fit version now has a built in AF motor so is compatible with the Nikon D40 / D40x / D60 digital SLR cameras. Includes dedicated flower shaped lens hood. Tamron lenses purchased from 1st April 2010 will now come with a 5 year warranty.

If you need the motorised lens due to having the D40, this is the baby for you. Everything automatic with the option to go fully manual as well. I have used it to take some great shots of the moon, and the zoom ratios are great. With this and a wide angle, you really don't need any other lenses.

This is an excellent lens. Pictures I have taken so far are sharp with great detail and colour definition. The lens operates very smoothly and the auto focus is very quick. I am using the lens with a Sony Alpha 350 and the whole package is nicely weighted and the handling feels good. I am very pleased with my choice and rate this lens highly.
