Compact and lightweight super zoom lens that is suitable for both 35mm film and digital SLR cameras. 49cm close focus across the whole zoom range. 62mm filter thread. Maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.9 at 300mm. When used on a digital SLR with an APS-C sized sensor the 35mm equivalent focal length would be 44-465mm. Tamron lenses purchased from 1st April 2010 will now come with a 5 year warranty.

First of all i am no expert with only reasonable understanding of cameras, however in my opnion this is an excellent lens. I borrowed one from my brother and used it throughout a trip to Peru walking the Inca trail, amazon etc. It took excellent photos throughout and offered a versitily that I found perfect. Excellent zoom and brilliant wide angle without adding to much weight.

Question: Is the Tamron 28-300mm f3.5-6.3 XR Di LD suitable for Nikon D50 and D60 cameras?
Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, it would be suitable for the D50 but not the D60. The D50 has a built in autofocus motor but the D60 needs an autofocus motor in the lens for the AF to work and this lens doesnt feature that unfortunately.
