Velbon Sherpa 435 Tripod by Julian Birch

Date Added: Saturday 09 February, 2008

Velbon Sherpa 435 Tripod This tripod is excellent value for money. I ordered on a Friday and got it the next morning - well done Bristol Cameras. The tripod's great, is high enough for me & I'm 6'2" yet still packs down very short and has a handy bag with adjustable shoulder strap. It feels solid but still light enough to be taken out & about. It's well machined and loaded with plenty of great features like 3 different spirit levels on the head, the reversable and splittable centre column and two position legs (with a quick realease angle lock) mean you can use the tripod really low or the camera underneath the tripod for macro work etc. Great piece of kit & at this price you can't go wrong!

Velbon Sherpa 435 Tripod Question

Date Added: 28th March 2008

Question: Is this tripod suitable for use with a spotting scope plus small digital camera and bracket? Total weight about 2 kilos.

Bristol Cameras Answer: Hi, the load capacity of this tripod is 4kg so the weight isnt a problem. If you are looking at using it for bird watching then you would be better off going for something like the Velbon Sherpa 450R which has a more suitable head for use with a spotting scope. Hope this is of help to you.
