Originally called Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo (Tokyo Telecommunications Engineering Company), Sony's roots go back over half a century to 1946 when it was founded by Masaru Ibuka and Akio Morita. Today Sony is one of the largest electronics companies in the world and one of the most recognisable brands in existence. With a massive product range including televisions, hifi, games consoles, computers, digital cameras and camcorders there cannot be many households without a Sony branded product.
