Now includes a full aperture solar filter and smartphone holder bracket. The Bresser Reflector Pollux 6 inch (150/1400) Reflector on an EQ mount is an excellent beginner telescope, providing a great balance between portability and performance. Thanks to an integrated barlow lens in the focuser, the physical length of the tube is kept short, making this a very portable, yet powerful choice of telescope. Comes with a smartphone eyepiece holder bracket, which can be used to take simple lunar and planetary photos and videos with your smartphone. The Bresser Pollux is provided with a 10mm and 25mm Bresser Plossl Eyepiece and Bresser 3x Barlow Lens, giving usable maginifications of 56x (25mm), 140x (10mm) and 168x (25mm in conjunction with 3x Barlow lens). While the 3x Barlow and 10mm can be used together, we feel that the 420x magnification it provides is above the level which can be practically used. Mechanically, the German Equatorial mount provides a stable and smooth tracking platform for this telescope. The observer can easily swing the telescopes tube to target celestial objects and then use the slow motion RA control to track and keep the object in the eyepiece, with the minimum of fuss, via flexible manual control cables. The tripod is a strong, yet lightweight, pressed aluminium design. The tripod legs can easily be folded and retracted to assist storage and transportation and an accessory tray provides handy 1.25 inch cutouts for storing eyepieces and accessories when not in use and also provides a brace to the tripod, making it much more stable when in use. All Newtonian telescopes have their focuser on the side of the optical tube, giving a comfortable viewing position, while observing through an eyepiece – the Bresser Pollux is no exception to this. The user can also easily revolve the main telescope tube in the tube rings (which can be tightened and relaxed via quick release knurled bolts), in order to easily vary the height and angle of the focuser, for observing in different parts of the sky.
