Improvements over the MR-14EX include new focusing lamps using new high brightness white LEDs making it easier to focus in low light conditions, new left and right flash tubes which can be controlled independently, the MR-14EX II can now be used as a wireless optical master unit to control and trigger remote EX series Speedlites, a range of new and enhanced features for greater operability, redesigned controls so you can control the unit from your DSLR menu or touchscreen, a new charge indicator, improved recycling to just 5.5 seconds, now near silent in operation, new one touch locking lever with metal mounting foot, cord is now attached to the right side of the body so it no longer interferes with the cameras shutter release.
