Nikon is advertising this scope as suitable for digiscoping. Will my Nikon coolpix 5200 be suitable and will I need other accessories to connect it?
Yes you can connect your Coolpix 5200 to the ED50 but you will need either a bracket or adapters - depending on which eyepiece you purchase with the scope. If you use a Wide DS eyepiece then you would only require the FSB-1A bracket. If you use a non DS eyepiece then in addition to the FSB-1A you would also require the FSA-1 and FSA-2 adapters.
Can any of the Nikon Coolpix S series cameras be used for digiscoping with the ED50 & DS eyepiece?
Hi, Nikon produce the FSB-5 camera bracket which is compatible with the ED50 scope with a DS series eyepiece attached. The FSB-5 allows for a Coolpix S1, S3, S5, S6, S7, S7c, S8 or S9 camera to be used for digiscoping. The FSB-5 isnt currently on our website so to order please ring our sales line on either 01179 140089 or 01179 290435.
