The Nikon SG-31R is a handy panel which attachees to the camera's flash hotshoe. This is used when you are using the built in flash of the camera as the remote commander for an off camera Nikon Speedlight. It removes any unwanted flash spill from the built in flash which could influence the exposure, especially when close to your subject.
