A solid, all-weather body for protection against dust and water
A camera like the WG-1000 offers advantages that smartphones and many cameras do not - it can also be used in conditions where it gets really rough and wet. Many people know the situation when they have to concentrate fully on their sport, such as canoeing or climbing, but still want to capture these exciting moments in the picture. This is where the WG-1000 comes into
its own.

The PENTAX WG-1000 has a reliable all-weather housing that is waterproof to a depth of 15 metres and can be operated continuously for up to one hour; it is dustproof against dirt and stains and shockproof even against falls from a height of up to two metres. Thanks to this robust construction, the WG-1000 can be used for a wide range of activities, even in harsh, demanding conditions, and even for underwater shooting.

A special feature opens up further usage options. The WG-1000 can be sterilised with special solvents containing ethanol, sodium hypochlorite (approved as a food disinfectant) or chlorine dioxide. This means that it can also be used in medical facilities or on construction sites.

Sharp, clear images
Thanks to its back-illuminated CMOS image sensor with approx. 16.35 effective megapixels, which is characterised by high sensitivity, low noise and a high image data readout speed, the WG0-1000 delivers sharp, clear and high-resolution images - up to a high sensitivity of ISO
3200. If the high ISO is no longer sufficient, the anti-shake mode helps to effectively compensate for camera shake in photos.

4x optical zoom lens with a wide-angle range of 27 mm to a telephoto range of 108 mm
With a focal length range of 4.9 mm to 19.6 mm (equivalent to approx. 27 mm to 108 mm in 35 mm format), the WG-1000 has a 4x zoom lens that covers a wide range of applications. This is a real optical zoom, which images the entire range without loss. The WG-1000 also has a digital zoom function, which extends the zoom range by 24x for high magnification shots.

A choice of seven shooting modes
The WG-1000 offers a choice of seven different shooting modes to automatically select the best possible setting for many situations. In addition to a special underwater mode, which faithfully reproduces the colours of the underwater world by reducing the blue cast, the camera offers a scene mode in which the user can select from 18 different options. And for special requirements, the WG-1000 even offers a manual mode that allows the user to manually select the desired aperture, shutter speed and ISO sensitivity.

Extensive creative functions thanks to a large selection of colour filters
PENTAX digital SLR cameras have long offered the option of using various colour filters to add the finishing touches to the pictures taken in order to customise the visual expression. For the WG-1000 there are now also 20 colour modes available to create images according to your own ideas. In addition to the conventional black and white and sepia modes, further creative options are available, such as the "Japan style" - which enhances bluish colour tones; the "Italian style" - which enhances greenish colour tones or the "French style" - which enhances reddish colour tones. In addition to these very creative options, there are also presets such as "Negative", which creates an image impression similar to photos taken from negative film, or
the "Sketch" mode, which adds a visual effect similar to that of a drawing. With this function, the user can easily add the desired finishing touches either before or after shooting.

Full HD Movie recording
The WG-1000 provides Full HD Movie recoding using the H-264 recording format to capture high-quality, extended movie clips (1920 x 1080 pixels, 16:9 proportions) at a frame rate of 30 frames per second.
