I have been told that the Sony Alpha a58 needs this ADP-MAA Shoe Adapter so it can work with the old Sony Alpha a57 flashgun type hotshoe.
Hi, yes the A58 has the new multi interface hotshoe which is different to the older Minolta style shoe. The ADP-MAA converts the new shoe to the older shoe type so you can attach the older fitting flashguns.

I have an older A37 and have just received as a present a Sony HML-F20M flash unit. The hot shoe is not compatible and wonder whether the ADP-MAA or the ADP-AMA is the correct adapter?
