The clever design needs no dangling cables, and remains clear of both viewfinder use, and your framed shot, even when using wide angles lenses – making it ideal for tight vlogging shots.

The unit is light in weight (34 grams / 1.2 ounces) and super-compact in size (48.5 mm / 2 inches). The back of the microphone won't touch your forehead when you're looking through the viewfinder, and setup is easy even with gimbals and grips.

Connecting the microphone via a compatible MI Shoe means you don't have to worry about noise being transmitted mechanically through cable connections or cables getting in the way of your shot, for greater portability when shooting.

Battery-free convenience
When you attach the ECM-G1 to the MI Shoe of any of Sony's compatible cameras, power is supplied directly from the camera to the microphone. This lets you handle extended shooting sessions free of concerns about the microphone battery running out.
