The Sony LA-EA5 is a compact lens adapter with an elegantm, cylindrical form factor that lets A-mount lens users take advantage of the outstanding AF performance provided by the latest E-mount camera bodies. The LA-EA5 allows A-mount SSM and SAM lenses to be used with the latest E-mount camera bodies, with full support for wide-area focal plane phase-detection AF, including subject-recognition features such as Real-time Eye AF (human and animal), Real-time Tracking, and more. Used with the latest E-mount camera bodies, this advanced adapter makes A-mount SSM and SAM lenses compatible with the AF/AE tracking capability of E-mount lenses, even while shooting continuously at up to 11 fps. A new compact AF drive unit and aperture drive unit are packaged in an elegant cylindrical mount adapter. The adapter matches the diameter of the A-mount so that nothing protrudes from the bottom of the mount when used on a compact E-mount body, ensuring comfortable hold and operation even when the camera is mounted on a vertical grip.

Full support is provided for focal plane phase-detection AF, Real-time Eye AF (human & animal), Real-time Tracking, and continuous AF/AE tracking at up to 11 frames per second
